 The Triple-Play Spray
Introducing Tube Armor™, exclusively from Whertec. The spray-on ceramic coating for boiler, condenser and temperature control tubes, and pressure vessels.
Your tubes take a beating. Tube Armor™ is your best defense against shutdowns, poor efficiency and high fuel costs.
From power producers to steel manufacturers, paper plants, chemical plants and refineries, there’s one thing in common. You rely on boilers and pressure vessels to create your finished products.
It’s a harsh environment. High pressure. Extreme heat. Erosion and corrosion take their toll. And before you know it, you’re faced with a costly shutdown to repair the problem. Still worse, you have to contend with this inevitability time after time.
Now, with Tube Armor, a proprietary ceramic coating offered by Whertec, your systems can be protected at a minimum cost while ensuring maximum uptime and profitability. And it’s not just our opinion. Tube Armor has been independently tested and verified to be everything we say it is. Take a look at the data:
Tube Armor Highlights
- Longer service life -Typical tubes in industrial applications wear out within a few years. But with Tube Armor, your tubes will enjoy greater durability and longevity. Of course, this means you’ll experience less downtime and greater productivity.
- Protection from corrosion and erosion - Left unprotected, the typical boiler tube will show signs of corrosion or erosion after a relatively short period. Tube Armor is applied as a coating to a specified thickness that offers superior protection from oxidation and friction.
- Lower slag pick-up - The ceramic coating creates a smooth, non-reactive surface where slag and ash are minimized, thus maximizing heat transfer. Tube armor seals exposed surfaces and serves as a visible inspection tool in areas where tube wastage rates are as high as five to ten percent per year.
- Improve thermal efficiency - Tube Armor does not inhibit heat transfer. In fact, with Tube Armor, you’ll have better heat distribution than ever before.
- Reduction in tube cracking - With Tube Armor, there’s more uniform expansion and contraction, leading to fewer cracks and leaks.
- Custom-formulated on site - Unlike other protective coatins, Tube Armor is custommade for your application, and final manufacturing is completed onsite immediately before it is applied. This ensures the best product performance and a solid, permanent bond.
- NOx emission reduction - Because you’re operating your machinery at a higher efficiency, you burn less fuel, leading to a reduction in harmful emissions and particulate matter. It’s not just the right thing to do, it’s environmentally smart, too.
How Tube Armor is Applied
Tube Armor is applied to the fireside of the tubes to prevent wear and erosion from the highly corrosive fuel burned in the typical industrial facility. Then, Tube Armor gets a protective coating for boiler wash-down that burns off while curing Tube Armor during normal boiler operation. A typical application saves time over thermal spray and weld overlay — in most cases, it’s completed in one-tenth the time. This means you’re up and running fast. |
